network domain exit

When I look at you, I see forgiveness was born for two reasons: one, it has been a very long time since I've owned a domain for the purpose of hosting a network of other websites, and two, I wanted a fresh start to my webdesigning career. I fell out of the hobby for several years, my only steadily active site being the fanlisting dedicated to the Golden Pair of Konomi Takeshi's Tennis no Oujisama (found at, and though I still have all the files of my former creations, they have not been online since I allowed my last domain name to expire. However, upon taking up webdesign as my focus at university (more about that here), I remembered just how much I used to enjoy designing websites - from shrines, to my once a Harry Potter mega site - and decided to throw myself right back into it, continuing to grow as a designer.

Then why "love-monkey," you ask? Thanks to a certain someone who shall not be named and Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium, I have been collecting sock monkeys for a couple of years, now. My collection includes keychains and full-sized sock monkeys that range in color from the traditional brown, to the trio who are colored bright pink, blue, and purple. My last two domains were known as and, and so as you can see, it's been somewhat of a trend to have some sort of animal in the domain name. That, and sock monkeys are love - therefore it makes perfect sense.

I registered on March 23rd, 2010 (very, very recent!) through Dreamhost, and I have been hosted with them for about seven years. I couldn't be happier with a host - their customer support is superb, there's very little to no downtime, and you get a great amount of space and bandwidth for a low price. If you've been thinking about registering a domain, but didn't know where you should host it, I would fully recommend Dreamhost over any other hosting company on the internet.
